The ROC leads trips that range from afternoon walks in the woods to multi-day winter expeditions. We provide sleeping bags, sleeping pads, tents, bivy sacks, cookstoves and cookware, mountaineering ice axes and crampons, snowshoes, day packs, and overnight packs. The club does not have clothing or footwear for hiking and mountaineering and we do require that participants provide this equipment for themsevles.
ROC leaders are a respected group of people. We carry the responsibility of planning and running trips and are the core of the ROC. We lead because we enjoy being outside, with friends, hiking or paddling or rafting or climbing or caving or skiing. Leaders are looked up to by others and they build valuable skills that employers are pleased to see. Also, their trips take priority over personal users when club equipment is needed and a Union insurance policy protects them. If you're interested in what we do, become a leader. |
