Ice climbing takes place in the dead of winter, usually beginning the in January and ending late Feburary. Recent ice-climbing locations include Pitchoff Mountain, Plotterskill Nature Preserve, and Cohoes Falls. Ice axes, ice climbing boots, and crampons are provided on club trips.
